Gallery “JHAK” (the Chinese character for “create”) is an art space located in YangJae-dong, SeoCho-Gu, Seoul, established since April 2007 by Kwon, Jung-Hwa who has worked as a cultural correspondent/journalist. It has garnered praise as a cultural space that is focused on making art accessible and where artists can gather freely.

Gallery “JHAK” is growing as a noteworthy art space in the art field as well as collectors and press in part to the 5+ themed exhibitions every year. During the past years Gallery “JHAK” has promoted and showed works by masters, seasoned and up and coming artists both from abroad and inside Korea. Gallery “JHAK” has also participated in the Seoul Open Art Fair (April, 2010) and the Hong Kong Asia Contemporary Art Show (October, 2012) followed by positive reviews. Gallery “JHAK” has offered art consulting services to large businesses such as High Brand and Citi Bank stepping out of the stationary gallery to introduce a more accessible and “integrated in everyday life” art space, also serving as a guide towards smart art piece purchases.

Gallery “JHAK” is keeping a close eye on the changing waves in current society both in Korea and abroad trying to serve as a bridge between the artist and the spectators. As well as being the place to gather for art in the Gangnam area, Gallery “JHAK” is ambitiously preparing to be one for the international stage through active participation and cultivated experience.
